GameStick signs its first big developer – Ubisoft

Playjam has announced that they signed up Ubisoft as their first big name developer for their Android powered GameStick. Ubisoft will be first be bringing Prince Of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame to the microconsole. Playjam also hinted that more big name developers are onboard. This is really the first news to hit the internet since the GameStick finally released last month after several months of delays.

The GameStick still sits at only around 50 games, which is about what it had upon its release a few weeks ago. This is in stark contrast to the 550 games that now are available on the OUYA. The OUYA is currently the GameStick’s biggest competitor. Both are sub $99 Android powered microconsoles, and both have chosen to have their own app markets and not supported access to Google Play. Ubisoft has not yet signed up with OUYA, and it could be very possible that the GameStick might attract some higher caliber developers because of its GameStop connections.
